2022 Soirée d’initiation à la recherche en astrophysique

The Institute for Research on Exoplanets, in collaboration with the Department of Physics of the Université de Montréal, the Observatoire du Mont-Mégantic and the Centre for Research in Astrophysics of Quebec, is organising the Soirée d’initiation à la recherche en astrophysique, an online version of the popular Journées d’initiation à la recherche en physique, held annually at the Université de Montréal.

This free activity is for Cégep students, and will take place on Wednesday, February 16th from 7PM to 9PM.

During this evening, you will have the opportunity to meet many graduate students in physics, and to learn more about astrophysics, one of the fields of research of the Department of Physics of the Université de Montréal.

7:20PM: Department of Physics, careers and issues of inclusion and diversity in physics, by Marylou Fournier-Tondreau, from Parité Sciences.
7:45PM: Presentation of astrophysics research at the Université de Montréal with Marie-Eve Naud and Frédérique Baron, astrophysicists, and grad student-researchers Myriam Prasow-Émond, Marylou Fournier-Tondreau, Eve Campeau-Poirier, Hantz Nozard and Guillaume Lenoir-Craig.
8:15PM: Presentation of the Observatoire du Mont-Mégantic and the James Webb Space Telescope with Nathalie Ouellette, astrophysicist.
8:30PM: Panel: your questions for our presenters
8:55PM: Closing remarks and explanations for the raffle

Places are limited, register quickly!
