Thomas Vandal

2019 iREx Summer Intern, 2018 Trottier iREx Summer Intern and B.Sc. student, McGill University

Thomas Vandal is finishing his second year of undergraduate studies in physics at McGill University.

In the summer of 2018, Thomas was supervised by Prof. René Doyon and researchers Julien Rameau and Lauren Weiss. Thomas took part in a research that aims to better constrain the mass of Beta Pictoris b, using Gaussian Processes to remove stellar noise from the radial velocities of Beta Pictoris. This internship was his first taste of research in astronomy.

This summer, Thomas will do second internship at iREx with Prof. René Doyon. He will work on a project related to high-precision velocimetry.
