Mitchell Barrett

2020 Trottier Summer Intern and B.Sc. student, University of Toronto

Mitchell is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, where he is studying astronomy and physics. Last summer, he participated in U of T’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship. He worked to model the evolution of the exoplanet 55 Cancri-e using a code called CEPAM. This fellowship sparked his interest in exoplanets.

This summer, he will be working with Professor Björn Benneke. The work will focus on taking existing methods of analyzing exoplanet atmospheres and updating them to be ready for use by the James Webb Space Telescope, whose launch is currently scheduled for March, 2021.
