Evelyn MacDonald

2017 Summer Intern and B.Sc. student, McGill University

Evelyn finished her last year of Honours Physics program at McGill University. She completed her honours undergraduate thesis under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Cowan. In the summer of 2018, Evelyn holds a SURA (Science Undergraduate Research Award) at McGill. She spent the summer working on her thesis project with Dr. Cowan, which is to map the Earth’s transit spectrum using data from the Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment. She uses her Earth spectrum as a model to simulate the transit spectra of Earth-like exoplanets orbiting smaller stars as they would be observed by the James Webb Space Telescope.
