Louis-Philippe Coulombe

Ph.D. Student, Université de Montréal

Louis-Philippe received his B.Sc. in Physics from the Université de Montréal in the spring of 2019. During his undergraduate studies, he worked on projects such as the characterization of materials by nuclear resonance analysis, as well as the modelling of a dark matter detector. He finally completed his final undergrad research project under the supervision of Björn Benneke on the study of instrumental effects on atmospheric characteristics constraints from data.

Under the supervision of Björn Benneke, Louis-Philippe’s master’s project consists of producing two-dimensional atmospheric maps of exoplanets from secondary eclipse data. This analysis would allow a better understanding of the atmospheric processes taking place on an exoplanet unlike when it is considered as a only point source.
