2020 Junior Astrophysicist Contest

2020 Junior Astrophysicist Contest

Are you a young girl from 2 to 18 years old? Do you like space? Do you ask yourself questions about the Universe?

The Institute for Research on Exoplanets in association with the Observatoire du Mont-Mégantic invites you to participate in the Junior Astrophysicist Contest, organised during of Space Week 2020 (October 4 to 10) and World Girls’ Day (October 11).

To participate

You must fill out this form by October 26, 2020, at 11.59PM, where you must answer the following questions in 50 to 100 words:

  • Question 1: Why are you interested in space?
  • Question 2: Si tu pouvais étudier une lune ou une planète de notre Système solaire, ou encore une exoplanète (une planète en orbite autour d’une autre étoile que le Soleil), laquelle choisirais-tu et pourquoi?

You must also include a photo or video of yourself that showcases your curiosity and interest in space. It can show you with a space-related piece of artwork that you have done (drawing, painting, or other) or that you like, with a book on the subject that you have read, or with a place that you have visited. If you choose to send a video, you can also talk about about your interest in space.

In addition, your parent (if you are under 18 years old) must provide their email address and an authorisation for us to use your photo or video. Note that this authorisation is not required to participate in the draw.
