Many new members joined iREx in September 2016. Among them, the new Trottier Postdoctoral Fellows, Lauren Weiss and Holly Sheets.

Lauren Weiss, Université de Montréal

Lauren Weiss just finished her PhD in the summer of 2016, at UC Berkeley, in California. Her thesis was on the masses and orbital dynamics of exoplanets. She will be working at iREx (Université de Montréal) on the composition of planets detected with the space telescope Kepler. She will also be working in collaboration with the NIRPS and SPIRou teams.

Holly Sheets, McGill University

Holly Sheets finished her PhD at University of Maryland in August 2016. Her thesis was focussed on determining the albedo of small exoplanets detected by Kepler (rocky, Earth-like to hydrogen-rich, Neptune-like planets) to assess if these objects are generally cloudy. She will be working at McGill mainly with Nicolas Cowan on the characterization of the atmospheres of small planets.
